The weather in Texas has been annoying AF lately...at least from a photographer's point of view.
As an architecture photographer (and somewhat of a perfectionist), I only want to photograph exterior shots when the weather is somewhat perfect. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work out when there are timelines and travel involved. So I do what I have to do.
Weaver & Jacobs asked me to photograph an elementary school they had finished a while back. I've photographed a few schools and I ALWAYS prefer to do it when school is not in session. This particular project was scheduled 5 weeks out, on the only day that met this requirement and fit my schedule. Well, the weather continued to annoy me that day.
I hate that we had to photograph on a cloudy (and rainy day), but W&J didn't really care. As long as I took some good shots they could use on future bids, they were more than happy. So I did just that.
Interesting Fact: Shaklin Elementary is located in Luling, TX. Luling has a HUGE watermelon festival each year. So the town's water tower is just that: a watermelon. In the library, they have a replica of this water tower. Pretty cool!
Here are the photos from this project:
