I can never say "no" when a client asks if I'd like to travel to the coast and photograph a project.
This was the case for my latest architecture photography project. The client, The Azek Company, is based out of Chicago and had a unique project they wanted to advertise. A local architect used their product in a creative way by using their decking as actual siding. Looking at the project in person, I would have never known this was the case, as the end result was beautiful.
Since the supplier contacted me directly, I had no idea who the architect was. He happened to be in Rockport the day of the shoot and stopped by. To my surprise, it was a San Antonio architect, Candid Rogers, that I had taken headshots of in the past. It was good to catch up with him.
The photoshoot itself was hot, sweaty and super fast paced. I always shoot exteriors at sunrise and/or sunset, which gives me a short window to get everything done. Needless to say, we pulled it off. One of the major contributors to its success was the homeowner. She was absolutely magnificent! She was welcoming, accommodating and really fun to work with. Having a home owner like this makes a HUGE difference in how smooth the project goes. Big shoutout to Sally for being an amazing person!
